Gayle (“Gay”) Crotty Aertker- Class of 1973

Gayle (“Gay”) Crotty Aertker, a 1973 graduate of Holy Savior Menard High School, built an extraordinary 48-year career in real estate development, construction, finance, and retail growth strategy after earning her Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Northwestern State University. Beginning her career with Tudor Development in Alexandria, Louisiana, she went on to hold executive leadership positions with Burlington Stores, Dollar General, Office Depot, and Toys “R” Us, where she became one of the first female leaders in corporate retail real estate. Over the course of her career, she spearheaded nationwide strategic growth initiatives, led cross-functional teams, and oversaw the successful opening of more than 8,000 retail locations for Fortune 500 companies, across North America. A Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), Gayle also served as an instructor of Real Estate Investment and a voting member of the Board of the International Council of Shopping Centers. Following her retirement from Burlington Stores in 2024, she continues her commitment to service as a board member of Williamson County, TN CASA, advocating for abused and neglected children, while mentoring young professionals in career advancement and leadership development.
