Summer Reading

May 20, 2026
Dear Parents,
To encourage students to continue reading throughout the summer, the Holy Savior Menard English teachers have selected summer reading for their classes.
If the reading is a novel, please purchase an unabridged copy from any bookstore or web site such as Amazon, Books a Million, or Barnes and NobleIf the reading is a short story or a set of short stories/essays, access the file on the Holy Savior Menard website, using the following stepsholysaviormenard.com – Academics – English Department– Summer Reading.  A summer reading link should also appear on the home page.
Students should finish the reading before the first week of school and should be prepared to take a test, complete an analysis, or write an essay on the selections during the first week or two of school.  Furthermore, students need to access, print, and complete the written assignments that are posted on the school website; each one provides a due date.
Please encourage your child to complete this summer assignment.
Sincerely,
Holy Savior Menard English teachers
