The NJHS chapter of Holy Savior Menard is an academic and service organization. Membership is open to students in grades 7-9 who have completed a full semester at Holy Savior Menard, who meet the required standards in five areas of evaluation: scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character, and who have a cumulative GPA 3.7 or above. The NJHS and the NHS are separate societies. Membership in the NJHS does not make a student automatically eligible for membership in NHS.
In keeping with the Society’s focus toward service to the local community, each year the members choose a charitable organization to give their time, talent and treasure to. The students have participated and/or organized events to bring attention and raise money. The following is a sample list of these organizations: St. Jude’s Hospital, Albertson Jingle Bells Fund Run for Diabetes, Sponsored child for Cerebral Paulsy Summer Camp, and Cystic Fibrosis.
Tentative Schedule of Society Events
• Regular meetings to be decided by the officers and moderator.
• Election of new officers in September.
• Community Service Project
• Moderator and Faculty Advisory Committee Review of new applicants (February/March)
• Induction Ceremony and Reception (Spring)
