Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, members of Holy Savior Menard Jr. Beta will participate in District Day at Brame Middle School. Students will compete in a variety of academic competitions as well as special talent. Good luck Jr. Beta! Geaux Eagles
The National Junior Beta Club is a student-centered organization that promotes character, develops leadership skills, encourages service involvement, recognizes meritorious academic achievement, and encourages and assists students in continuing their education beyond high school.
Jr. Beta Club meets Wednesdays at 7:20am in Rm. 201 (Mrs. Oestriecher's room). Club officers will be elected at the first meeting of the school year (date to be announced).
Junior Beta Requitements:
Maintain A/B Honor Roll each nine weeks.
Attendance at all meetings is required. Meetings will be held during 5th period lunch on the first Tuesday of each month unless otherwise notified. Members are to bring their lunch and or drink unless lunch is provided.
If you cannot attend a meeting you must inform the sponser to be excused.
3 unexcused meeting absences will result in probation.
All members are required to complete 10 hours of community service per semester (outside of Beta Club activites).
All members are required to participate in at least one Beta Club project each semester:
September to December: Samaritans purse Christmas shoe boxes or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Great Strides Walk- planned for October 6, 2012
January to May: "Jeans for Genes", Relay for Life, Easter Baskets for Women/Children's Shelters
Returning member dues: $10 per year due by September meeting
Students new to Menard who have never been a member of Jr. Beta will receive an invitation at the conclusion of the 1st and 2nd nine weeks.

Important Dates:
Usually 2nd Saturday in February: District Beta Day *Please do not plan for ACT test on this day
May 2 and 3rd, 2013: State Beta Convention in Lafayette, LA
State and National Convention Theme: "The Heart of Beta"
